Interviews with Nobuo Uematsu, Hironobu Sakaguchi, and Yu Suzuki
[02.20.99] » Three individuals at the heart of the gaming industry speak out in a series of recent interviews.
Curious about the composer behind the Final Fantasy series' tunes? Wondering about the creator of the Final Fantasy series itself? Or perhaps Shen Mue has caught your interest? Whatever the case, we thought we'd pass along links to three recent RPG-related interviews.
Firstly, devoted game music fan Eric Steffens has posted an interview conducted with Square's Nobuo Uematsu. Uematsu is known primarily for the musical scores found in every Final Fantasy title, and is highly admired among the video game music community. The full interview is available here.
The second interview comes courtesy of the Nikkei Sangyo Shimbun, a publication in Japan. In it, Square's vice president Hironobu Sakaguchi talks about in-game cinemas, the future of gaming, and the Final Fantasy Movie. GameSpot's summary is available here.
Finally, also courtesy of the Nikkei Sangyo Shimbun, AM2's Yu Suzuki speaks out on Shen Mue, his much-hyped (non) RPG for the Dreamcast. Shen Mue is Suzuki's first stab at an RPG, and he discusses the development process, the game's release date, and the possibility of a sequel. GameSpot's summary is available here.
