Anachronox announced for Dreamcast

[02.18.99] » ION Storm's console RPG-inspired Anachronox has now been confirmed for a Dreamcast release. And there was much rejoicing.

John Romero of Ion Storm, a major PC developer, recently divulged news to Dreamcast.net that the company is planning to port their 3 PC titles to the Dreamcast, including Tom Hall's Anachronox.

"Yes, we will eventually port our games over to the Dreamcast," Romero stated, adding "I couldn't pick just one title, I'd have to pick them all -- they are all so cool."

Developed by a team influenced heavily by Square's RPGs, and using a modified version of the Quake II engine, Anachronox features eye-catching graphics and realistically panning camera views. The game takes you across galaxies and dimensions on a search for the mysterious Mystech devices, a vanished alien race, and powerful malevolent forces. If that doesn't catch your attention, just check out the high resolution shots below.
