Dragon Quest goes portable
[02.17.99] » Japanese gamers who missed the first three Dragon Quests
can now find them on GameBoy Color.
Porting NES titles to the GameBoy Color is a popular
practice these days, and Enix is the latest developer to join the crowd.
The popular developer recently announced that it will release "new versions"
of the first three Dragon Quests on GameBoy Color. No release date has
been announced yet.
Exactly what will be included in these "new versions"
is unclear, but they will likely remain faithful to the NES originals.
As all three of the first Dragon Quest were also remade for the Super
Famicom, some of the improvements from those games may find their way
into the new releases as well. Unfortunately, since Enix's North American
offices closed, for the most part, long ago, the chance of English translations seems unlikely.
