Sega of Japan announces Shen Mue VMS game
[01.28.99] » PDA offshoot available weeks before game itself.
Last summer, Sega of Japan built hype for the Dreamcast by releasing a "Godzilla" VMS title weeks before the system itself. Gamers could play with the little Tokyo-destroying monsters, and the VMS unit itself would later interface with the full Godzilla Generations.
Now, to build hype for its killer-app Shen Mue, Sega is again shipping a VMS title before the game itself. However, while the Godzilla VMS was purchased separately in movie theatres (and had a scaly-green case), Shen Mue's minigame will be downloadable over the Internet. Starting February 14th, on-line Dreamcast owners can experience the first stage of Yu Suzuki's home masterpiece.
