Climax Landers gameplay and VMS details

[01.13.99] » Explore the randomly-generated Caves of Time -- and play more VMS games than you can shake a stick at (even a really big stick).

Speculation about Climax Lander's clashing architectural styles can finally end, as Climax has revealed key plot details. Apparently, the main character accidently lost himself in the "Tower of Time" and discovered a strange, temporally unstable world. Different eras of time (such as medieval, middle ages, Victorian, modern, and future) combine into an alarmingly confusing world. Dungeons and mazes are randomly generated, but don't worry that it's all boring, dank temples: you'll explore temples, forests, and more. Towns will increase in size and stature as your character's statistics improve. Interestingly, you can keep playing the game even after "completing" the main story arc!

There will be ten VMS games playable in Climax Landers; while it was known that it would push the device to the limit, this is borderline insane. Games range from action and casino types to virtual pet simulations. Capture and breed enemies and exchange them with friends (or, if you're a lousy breeder, with enemies). Stay tuned to the GIA for more information on this intriguing game.
