Lunar Pushed Back Until 1999

[11.24.98] » Don't expect to see Lunar : Silver Star Story Complete in time for Christmas...

In a move that sent thousands of RPG enthusiasts into collective shock (sarcasm, folks), Working Designs has announced that their eagerly anticipated remake of a Sega CD cult hit, Lunar : Silver Star Story Complete, has been pushed back from December of this year until early-to-mid 1999.

"The main reason for the delay is that we are still missing a few very critical tools for LUNAR: Silver Star Story's code (i.e. special 24fps movie tool and custom sound ripper) and we still have a lot of audio left to record," Working Designs' official news story reports. Text is also not completely through the translation process, resting at approximately 80% complete and ready for the game.

The good news? Well, certain retailers should find samples of Lunar's extensive packaging deal appearing in their mailboxes sometime soon, meaning you can take a sneak-peak at what'll be in store for you when the game finally arrives. Working Designs also let out another hint of Lunar : Eternal Blue reaching the PlayStation sometime in 1999 on their homepage. (Cynics may not be far off the mark by predicting a later release, however...)
