Zelda 64 in stores

[11.23.98] » Cancel your appointments: the game of the year / decade / century is here.

The hype has been endless, the message clear: Zelda 64 is the greatest game ever made. Most games would look ridiculous wearing such an ostentatious title. With Zelda 64, it just might be true. Shigeru Miyamoto's ultimate masterpiece has been spotted in the U.S. this evening and will be in stores everywhere by tomorrow.

The numbers are staggering: 325,000 cartridges were presold (did you get your gold copy?) Nintendo plans to sell five million copies by January. Their $10 million advertising campaign should do the trick with its endless barrage of movie trailers, commercials, and magazine ads.

But is the game any good? From what GIA has seen, "good" would be an understatement. So would "great." So would "divine." The game is seemingly beyond praise. Have you gotten your copy of Zelda yet? What do you think of it? Let the staff at GIA know, and we'll combine the intial impressions into a news story tomorrow.

... unless, of course, we forget, 'cause we're too busy playing Zelda. ^_^
