Tommo shuffles Dreamcast release schedule

[12.06.99] » Black Matrix dropped; Espion-age-nts gets a new name.

Tommo announced a new release list today, revealing a number of delays and other changes in its four-game line-up. First, Evolution-themed strategy title Seventh Cross: Evolution (not to be confused with Ubi Soft's dungeon RPG Evolution), which failed to meet its original November release date, will now hit stores later this month, on December 17th.

In 2000, the company will follow with two more titles. Espion-age-nts, retitled I Spy: Operation Espionage for its U.S. release, will arrive in stores in late February, while Monster Rancher clone Monster Breeder will follow in late March.

Tommo's planned North American release of strategy RPG Black Matrix has been canned completely; Sega of America ordered the cancellation, apparently due to poor Japanese sales and text-heavy gameplay. Unfortunately, the move by Sega virtually guarantees that other publishers will be blocked from translating the title for the U.S. market.
