Atlus of Japan recently announced the latest in the long-running Megami Tensei series. Titled Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children, the Game Boy Color title will be available in two different editions, Red Book and Black Book. The two games have an essentially identical plot, but they offer a different mix of main characters, demons, and side quests -- and, like Pokémon, you'll need to trade demons between two copies of the game in order to obtain the complete set of over 200. New demons can also be created by fusing existing ones together, a feature familiar to Megaten fans.
Both editions of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children are scheduled for a Spring 2000 release in Japan. Another Game Boy Color Megaten title, Last Bible, did make it to North America -- as The Demon Slayer -- so it's possible that Devil Children will as well.
