Exciting new Shen Mue mini-games, control system
[10.29.99] » Egg catching machines to delight the children of the 21st century.
It's widely known that Ryo, Shen Mue's hero, can play a pair of classic Sega arcade games (Hang On and Space Harrier) in Shen Mue's arcades. While certainly correct, such information is now revealed to be a mere front for the arcades' true purpose: Many of them feature coin-operated "egg catcher" machines from which Ryo can win various souvenirs and "cartoon figures." In what is already being hailed as the biggest advance in the multiplayer gaming since the advent of the modem, players will be able to trade their collected figures over the Internet. Gaming may never be the same.
Additionally, a new control scheme is being implented to ensure that even the youngest children of the 21st century will be able to appreciate Uncle Suzuki's gift. When investigating key objects, the screen will "lock on" to that object; pressing the action button then prompts Ryo to take an appropriate action (reading a sign, opening a door, lighting a match, etc.) -- a system similar to the Z-Targeting employed in Zelda 64.
