Eternal Arcadia battle details

[10.26.99] » Parasite Eve-inspired system allows for long- and short-range attacks -- plus fishing rod support!

After months of releasing only storyline info, Sega finally divulged a rough look at Eternal Arcadia's battle system. The system is quite similar to the original Parasite Eve's; you can move your characters freely about the battlefield to strike the enemies' weak points or avoid their attacks. Obviously, attacking most foes from the back or from the side results in more damage than a frontal assault. Most characters also have "Indirect Attacks" that allow them to attack from a distance, though such attacks deal less damage and miss frequently.

Additionally, Eternal Arcadia supports the Dreamcast modem; though it's unlikely any type of online play will be offered, some Internet-based features (such as VMU downloads) will obviously be available. Arcadia even goes so far as to support the Dreamcast fishing rod; the game features a Breath of Fire-inspired fishing mini-game where the controller can be utilized.
