Capcom sets Resident Evil release dates
[10.18.99] » Japan gets a double dose of Resident Evil 2
this winter.
Capcom recently announced release dates for several
new ports of the ever-popular Resident Evil 2 (aka Biohazard 2). The Dreamcast edition of
the game will reach Japan on December 9th, and the Nintendo 64 version follows
just over a week later on December 17th. North American gamers will actually
see the N64 version before their Japanese counterparts; it ships to the
U.S. and Canada on October 31st. It's not known at this time whether the
Dreamcast port will cross the Pacific or not.
A number of new features in the Nintendo 64 version
were also revealed. The item randomizer from Resident Evil 3 has been
added, and a few new enemies may even be included. Many new readable documents
(stored in the "File" section of the item screen) will be scattered about the
game, giving players new insights into the game's world. Finally, an option
to the tone down the gore factor should be included as well.
