Enix re-opens U.S. branch
[10.18.99] » Enix of America returns after a several-year
absence.
After remaining absent from the North American
publishing market since 1994, Enix is finally making a return. The
Japanese RPG powerhouse is opening a new North American branch in
Seattle this November. The duties of this branch aren't clear yet,
but they could well include publishing Enix's games.
Eidos is publishing Dragon Warrior Monsters
in the U.S. and Europe in early 2000, but none of Enix's other games,
such as Dragon Quest VII and Valkyrie Profile, currently have an English
publisher -- leaving the door open for Enix itself to step in. "Who
will publish Dragon Quest VII?" has been a question long asked by
North American gamers; the surprising answer may well be Enix itself.
