Nintendo announces Pocket Pikachu Color
[10.15.99] » Virtual pet data can be imported into Pokémon Gold and Silver.
Sega's VMU and Sony's PocketStation have proven that it's possible for console systems to interact with small portable systems. Now, Nintendo intends to one-up its rivals by creating a brand new first small portable system, one that can interact with a slightly larger portable system: Pocket Pikachu Color.
Scheduled to be released simultaneously in Japan with the Gold and Silver editions Pokémon, Pocket Pikachu Color is simply a colorized version of the Pocket Pikachu virtual pet. However, the "Watts" that you earn by raising Pikachu can now be transferred via infrared link to a Color Game Boy; send these points to a Pokémon Gold or Pokémon Silver cartridge, and you can exchange them for various abilities and secrets.
