   According to the latest Famitsu, Phantasy Star Online will have extensive single player options. If not connected to the Dreamcast Network, AI will take over the other three characters in the party while the player will continue to control the hero. In addition, characters from the rest of the series will make cameos as NPCs, although the possibility that they'll be available as playable characters hasn't been ruled out.
