| Tales of Eternia gets a date[09.22.99] » Namco's third title in the popular RPG series
will hit Japan in April of 2000.    According to videogames.com,
Namco has announced that Tales of Eternia will see Japanese release
in April of next year. For those who missed the GIA's previous
coverage, Tales of Eternia is the third game in Namco's RPG series
which began with Tales of Phantasia for the SNES, and continues with
Tales of Destiny on PSX. Eternia will also be on the PSX, and is the
first title in the series to feature 3D backdrops. However, the game
still keeps with the feel of the rest of the series, and Namco has
brought back the character designer, anime studio, and most other
employees from the previois development staff. Although a US release
so far seems unlikely with the decision not to port the remake of
Tales of Phantasia, high Japanese sales along with the growing American
RPG market might bring about a change of heart.
