TGS: Monster Rancher 3, Monster Rancher GBC in development

[09.14.99] » A third installment to Tecmo's PlayStation cult hit is announced along with a Game Boy Color spin-off.

   With Monster Rancher 2 only two weeks old in North America, Tecmo has revealed that a third installment in the popular monster breeding series has begun development, according to videogames.com. No specific system or release date was mentioned, although company officials stated it will be developed for either the PlayStation or PlayStation 2.

   The Monster Rancher franchise doesn't end there, however -- Tecmo also mentioned that a Game Boy Color title is in the works. Ironically paralleling the recent North American announcement of Pokémon Card, the title is said to be based on a Monster Rancher card battle game.
