More on Bubble Bobble GBC

[09.05.99] » The enhanced version of the NES classic should arrive in stores next month.

After vanishing for many months, Taito's Game Boy Color port of the original Bubble Bobble has resurfaced. The game, offically titled "Bubble Bobble Classic," is now due out in October in both the U.S. and Japan. Metro 3D will publish the North American version, which carries a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Bubble Bobble Classic is more than just a straight port, however -- as with many Game Boy Color remakes, it includes a few enhancements. The most noticeable change is a graphical one. Every stage in the original NES Bubble Bobble had a generic black background; in Bubble Bobble Classic, they all sport colorful scenery, ranging from forests to castles. Bubble Bobble Classic also features a "Time Attack" mode, though no further details on that could be found.
