5th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards finalists announced

[02.08.02] » Dynamic duo of horned boy and ethereal princess poised to take awards by storm.

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) recently revealed its list of finalists for the 5th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards, the winners of which will be presented February 28 at the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas. While many games of the past year are on the list of finalists, of note is Sony's action-adventure game ICO, which tied with Xbox action game Halo by placing in 8 categories each, including Innovation in Console Gaming and Game of the Year, showing that even smaller-profile titles can get official recognition, unlike some industries. Even GIA staff favorite Paper Mario made its mark as a finalist in the Console Role Playing Game of the Year category.
