Zero confirmed for U.S. release
[01.09.02] » Zero bad puns possible with the new name "Fatal
Frame."
As every good GIA Agent knows, the hardest part
about covering the news isn't tracking down stories or checking the
facts - it's coming up with witty pull text to go under the headline
on the frontpage. While we love to entertain our readers, being clever
is hard! So when Tecmo announced that its spooky photographic adventure,
codenamed Project 0, had been officially named Zero, we were overjoyed.
We could capture Zero screenshots, give you Zero
information, and (a staff favorite) post Zero movies. It was easy
-- and it was fun! Now, all that is coming to an end. As previously
hinted, Zero will be arriving in
America later this year under the new title Fatal Frame. The release
and name change were confirmed in this months Official PlayStation
Magazine, which features an ad for the game with a release date of
Spring 2002.
While we're happy that such an intriguing game
is on its way to US shores, it's with bittersweet sadness that we
bid farewell to the game title that provided for the largest number
of easy, dumb jokes since Seaman. In a last homage to the game's former
name, Tecmo has set up an official English website at Fatalframegame.com.
Currently, it has Zero content.
Thanks to Richard Garcia for breaking it to us
gently.
