More information on Resident Evil remake revealed

[11.07.01] » Now with 70% more zombie fun.

Shinji Mikami, producer of the Resident Evil/Biohazard series, has revealed a small amount of information on the upcoming GameCube remake of the first game in the series. About 70% of the game's contents will differ from the original PlayStation version. Included in the differences will be minor things such as different enemy and item placement. In addition to these minor changes, some of the game's locations will differ greatly; Mikami gave the example of the forest in the game, which now contains steam and gas turbine systems. While these differences may not be as major as some people may like, Mikami did mention that he is trying to keep the remake interesting for those who have already played through the original.

Biohazard is due in Japan for the GameCube on March 22, 2002. The North American version, Resident Evil, should follow shortly thereafter.
