Konami continues North American DDR support
[10.23.01] » Konami begins surveying DDR fans for a new
arcade release.
Though Konami was very tentative about the North American rollout of its popular Dance Dance Revolution series, it appears that the games have done well enough for them to start work on a new US-only arcade mix. The company recently asked DDR fansite
DDR Freak to run an online
poll so gamers could rank songs for possible inclusion in the new
game, tentatively titled Dance Dance Revolution USA 2nd Mix.
Though the survey was done for an arcade release, the original North American PlayStation DDR title was heavily based on the arcade DDR USA, so the results should show what home gamers will likely be treated to should Konami decide to release another PlayStation verson.
Unfortunately, the survey concluded yesterday,
but interested parties can check out the results
for an indication of which song may be included in the final product.
There's still a chance to give your input, however. The site just
started a second poll
to see which Konami Original song fans would like to see remixed for
the new game.
Konami America has yet to announce, confirm, or otherwise recognize the existence of a new PlayStation DDR mix, though an official announcement regarding the new arcade mix should be forthcoming.
Thanks to Adam Cunningham for the tip.
