Square reveals new Final Fantasy XI details
[10.20.01] » SHOKKU!!!
GameSpot recently uncovered a few more details regarding Square's upcoming foray into the world of online RPGs, Final Fantasy XI. The game will take place on a world called Vana Dir, and will once again involve the search for crystals. To no one's surprise, Vana Dir is a world where technology and magic co-exist, and the plot will feature an idea never before used in an RPG, let alone a Final Fantasy title: a resurrected evil. In a nice breath of fresh air, Hironobu Sakaguchi did say that the title would be more plot-intensive than present online RPGs.
Though details are obviously very sparse at the present time, more information will be filtering in as the game's March 2002 Japanese release draws near.
