European Xbox launch details

   As part of Microsoft's X01 Europe press event this week in Cannes, France, the company finally revealed the date and pricing for the European launch of the Xbox.

   Microsoft's new console will be release on March 16, 2002, in 16 European countries. Games will be priced at a MSPR of 69 Euros (about $64 US) and the system itself will retail for 479 Euros (about $433 US). No details were given on the launch line up or the initial hardware shipment, but Microsoft plans to ship 1.5 million consoles in Europe by the end of June.
