TGS: PS2 Rez to support Trance Vibrator peripheral
[10.13.01] » See me, feel me, touch me, heal me!
At the recent Fall Tokyo Game Show, a Sega representative gave the GIA more information on forthcoming "Trance Vibrator" peripheral for the PS2. The "Trance Vibrator" is a small, USB-compatible device that "greatly amplifies" PlayStation 2 vibration data. The device is designed to be worn with a strap or perhaps placed in a pocket. In fact, during a conference, game creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi told show attendees with sly wink that it can go "anywhere you want." Scandalous!
Rez's world of synaesthesia now supports three senses: sight, sound, and touch. Could a partnership with DigiScents be just around the corner? Rez will be available in Japan on November 22, 2001, for PlayStation 2 and Dreamcast for 6800 yen. A special edition of the PlayStation 2 version will come bundled with the Trance Vibrator for 8800 yen. The peripheral will not be available for Dreamcast. It is currently unknown if the Trance Vibrator will be sold separately, or if it will function with other PlayStation 2 software.
