| TGS: Jet Set Radio Future soundtrack details, new screens[10.11.01] » Grand Royal Records teams up with Hideki Naganuma
            for Jet Set sequel.
A big part of the charm of the original Jet Set
Radio was its soundtrack -- one of the most original and catchy collection
of tunes heard in years. As part of its pre-TGS announcements, Sega
revealed full details on who exactly would be scoring the Xbox sequel.    Perhaps the best news on the soundtrack front
is that Wavemaster's Hideki Naganuma, who did a large chunk of the
score for the original game, will indeed be returning with new compositions
for the sequel. Joining him this time will be the Latch Brothers,
composed of Mike D (of Beastie Boys fame), Tick, and Wag. The group
spent considerable time with the Smilebit team and the game itself,
and the five original tracks they've composed are said to match the
urban, cartoon aesthetic of JSRF.     The rest of the soundtrack will be supplied by
artists from Grand Royal records. The indie label recently closed its
doors, so the JSRF soundtrack will represent the final work from the
company. In addition to Latch Brothers remixes of Grand Royal artists,
Bran Van 3000, The Prunes, and BS 2000, the game will include new
tracks from Bis, Cibo Matto, Scapegoat Wax, and Russell Simins (drummer
for the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion).     An actual track list has yet to be revealed, but
look for more information as JSRF's early 2002 release date approaches.
Meanwhile, check out 8 new screens
            from the show.
