Phantasy Star Online multi-platform details confirmed

[09.06.01] » Sega to implement GameCube and Dreamcast online compatibility.

According to N-Sider, during the Japanese television program World Business, a Sega representative confirmed Phantasy Star Online's cross-platform features by displaying PSO running on both the Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo GameCube. A Dreamcast controller was used to manipulate PSO on the GameCube screen and reversely a GameCube controller for the Dreamcast screen. Simply put, the GameCube version will offer users backwards compatibility with Dreamcast gamers by allowing both system's players to interact with each other.

Phantasy Star Online ver. 2 for the Dreamcast is due out in North America on September 25; with the GameCube version tentatively slated for release sometime in early 2002.
