From Software announces 2002 line-up
[08.22.01] » New GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox RPGs confirmed.
From Software has revealed its roster of games for 2002 in the pages of Famitsu magazine, and GameSpot VG has translated the list.
Two new PlayStation 2 RPGs were announced. The first is Shadow Tower Abyss, a sequel to the Japan-only PSone action RPG dungeon crawler. The second is another action RPG. Tentatively titled "Code: Inferno", this game starts a masked hero named White Demon who battles monsters with a giant cross known as the "Holy Key."
From also announced a second GameCube project: Gold Star Mountain, a monster breeding action RPG. The game stars a young gun-wielding boy who must take his collection of monsters into battles to earn item with which to further upgrade the creatures. From's previously-announced GameCube RPG, Rune, is also now reported to be 30% complete.
Finally, the developer's first Xbox RPG was revealed: Gaia Blade, a fantasy-themed strategy RPG. The game will offer 12 different selectable races and advanced AI.
None of these new titles currently have been announced for North American release, but publisher Agetec regularly translates From's titles.
