New Symphony of the Night-style Castlevania title in the works

[07.27.01] » The recently announced new Castlevania looks to be another action RPG.

Konami's recently announced new Castlevania title will play more like the action RPG Symphony of the Night and not the earlier platform titles, reports PSM magazine. In an interview with the magazine, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night director Koji Igarashi, stated that the new title "is descended from SOTN" and not the earlier platformers or Nintendo 64 adventures. Igarashi also said that staff members from both Symphony of the Night and the PC Engine platformer Dracula X are at work on the title.

Though the interview was conducted by a PlayStation-only magazine, the new Castlevania title does not have yet have a set target platform and could end up as either a portable or console release.

The full interview with Koji Igarashi can be found in the most recent issue of PSM.
