First Sansara Naga details
[07.27.01] » Natsume's Game Boy Advance RPG is actually a compilation of two classic games.
The first details on Natsume's Sansara Naga have been revealed by Famitsu. Announced with few details at E3, Sansara Naga has now been revealed to consist of remakes of two classic RPG: 1990's Sansara Naga, released on the Famicom, and 1994's Sansara Naga 2, released on the Super Famicom. Neither title was originally released in English.
The Game Boy Advance edition will feature enhanced graphics and improved AI in both games. The combat scenes have been completely redone; while the original battles were first-person, the GBA release will use an isometric perspective similar to that of the Breath of Fire series.
The Sansara Naga series is set in a fantasy world that seems to revolve heavily around dragons. Both games were originally directed by Japanese director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor, Urusei Yatsura, Avalon).
Victor Interactive, the developer and publisher of the original Sansara Naga titles, is also producing the remakes. The company will publish the compilation cartridge this fall in Japan under the title "Sansara Naga 1x2." Meanwhile, Natsume has already scheduled the game for a North American release in the fourth quarter of 2002 as just "Sansara Naga."
