New Devil May Cry details, screens
[07.27.01] » New information on the world's easiest easy
mode and a promotional soundtrack; 18 new screenshots.
In Capcom's self-proclaimed quest to create the
coolest action game on the planet, the company seems to have come
to the troubling realization that some people are just no good
at action games. Are they to be left out of the "stylish hard
action" of Devil May Cry just because they lack the basic dexterity
to pull off timed button combos? Capcom has decided no, and the company
is implementing what may be the simplest "easy mode" ever
seen in an action game.
With the new "Easy Automatic" mode turned
on, all of Dante's moves and combos will be accessible with a single
button press. Holding down the square button with result in a variety
of sword attacks, while the triangle button will cause Dante to automatically
fire his guns at the nearest enemy.
Capcom has also announced a limited run CD single
titled Dante's Selection.
The three track disc will contain the theme music from the game, "Ring
the Noise" (sic) by Yokihiro, as well as two other tracks from
the game's score ("LOCK & load" and "S"),
composed by Masami Ueda. The single will be available for free in
Japan with the purchase of the game.
Devil May Cry is due out in Japan on August 23
with a US launch to follow in the Fall. Meanwhile, check out 18
new screenshots of Dante in action.
