New Devil May Cry information
[05.22.01] » A second demo introduces a couple new elements to the game.
Capcom's official Devil May Cry page is reporting that the first playable demo went over so well that a second one is almost ready. Due in July, the new demo will include stages 2, 3, and 4, which is enough of the game to show off its new features.
Just what those new features are is a little mysterious. While an E3 build of the game had Dante acquiring experience points from defeated enemies, Capcom's description of the new demo makes no mention of this system. Instead, it focuses on acquiring red orbs from downed foes in order to learn new skills. Among the skills shown are a Stinger attack, which was available in the first demo, and two special skills for Dante's demon form: Air Raid and Vortex.
The demo also introduces a character known as Nero Angelo, whose name would seem to imply a heavenly nemesis for the half-demon Dante. Nero has the ability to use the same sword techniques that Dante does, but a strange power in Dante's pendant repels Nero and sends him fleeing. For more on the second demo, see 13 screenshots and the box art.
