Black & White Dreamcast port put on hold

[06.07.01] » A Dreamcast release of the "god game" grows less and less likely.

FGN Online reports that Lionhead Studios has put development of the Dreamcast version of its PC hit Black & White "on hold." The port was originally to be published by Sega; however, Sega dropped the game from its roster last month. As a result, Lionhead has shelved the project for now, though it's still possible that another publisher could pick up the title and prompt Lionhead to resume development.

Lionhead's Mark Webley explained to FGN Online, "We regret Sega's decision to reassess the future of its Dreamcast console. The Dreamcast version of Black & White had progressed really well and was pushing the console to its technical limits. We have had some interest from other parties regarding the publishing rights to Black & White Dreamcast. So at the moment we consider this project to be 'on hold'."
