E3: Samba's future in jeopardy?

[05.18.01] » Why did Samba 2001 fall out of the tree? Because it was dead.

    The GIA was disappointed to discover that Samba 2001 was absent from Sega's booth, and perhaps more forebodingly, from Sega's press materials. Could disappointing sales of the original game and maracas have forced it off Sega's release schedule? The GIA will investigate, but things look grim. We asked Yuji Naka if the Samba series would be continuing on other platforms. He informed us that, though he would love to continue the series, disappointing sales make it extremely unlikely. For now, it's just not going to happen. Will Nich's Slender Time Sweet Diet have to emphasize Dance Dance Revolution's unproven Diet Mode over Naka's waist-slimming masterpiece?
