E3: Sin & Punishment on display

[05.16.01] » Treasure's Nintendo 64 shooter is at the show, though a North American release isn't quite official.

Nintendo confirmed that Treasure's Nintendo 64 shooter Sin & Punishment: Successor to the Earth will be on display at E3 when the doors of the Los Angeles Convention Center open tomorrow. Released last November in Japan, the apocalypse-themed shooter has topped many fans' "most wanted" list but never been officially announced for localization.

Nintendo stopped short of directly confirming the title's North American release today, however. The company's official line? "You can get a glimpse of it at E3, but there's no final word on if or when it will come to North America." However, it seems unlikely that Nintendo of America would exhibit the title if it had no plans to translate the game; furthermore, the company has owned the domain names sin-and-punishment.com and sinandpunishment.com since last August.
