GameCube delayed

[04.18.01] » Nintendo's next-generation system pushed back to September in Japan, November in US.

Nintendo's long history of delaying the release of new hardware and the company's continued silence on all matters GameCube have led many to speculate the system would inevitably miss its proposed July ship date in Japan. Today, Bloomberg Japan reported that the GameCube's launch has indeed been pushed back, both in its home country and in the US.

The system is now scheduled for a September 14 release in Japan, with the American launch to follow in mid-November. The company further stated that pricing for the GameCube would be revealed in May, which is likely scheduled to coincide with this year's E3.
