More Game Boy Wars Advance details
[04.12.01] » GBA strategy game to include multiple campaigns,
allow players to create own maps.
Although Nintendo's "Wars" series of
games has been around in Japan since 1988's Famicom Wars, most Americans
have likely never heard of the series. Game Boy Wars Advance may be
the first game to change that and Nintendo has released new information
on the GBA installment in the long running franchise.
Nintendo is promising accessible gameplay with
GB Wars Advance and a full tutorial mode should ease players into
the more complex aspects such as the game's support of true line-of-sight.
The single player game will take place across multiple campaigns,
each headed up by different general with unique abilities and special
attacks. Success in these campaigns will earn players special "Wars
Coins" which can be used to purchase new multiplayer maps.
If those aren't enough, the game will also provide
the opportunity to create new maps from scratch, allowing the player
full control over the terrain creation and troop placement. The GBA
cartridge can store up to three of these custom maps at a time and
players can trade their creations using the link cable.
While GB Wars Advance's US release is still very
much up in the air, you can content yourself with 11
new screenshots while waiting for the final word from Nintendo.
