Datel announces Game Studio for PlayStation 2

[04.01.01] » Game Boy Color emulator includes both GBC cartridge port and flash ROM.

   Datel recently announced the Game Studio, a Game Boy Color emulator for PlayStation 2. The set includes a CD with an actual Game Boy Color emulator for the PS2, a GamePort card that allows Game Boy Color carts to be plugged into PS2 memory card slots, and a flash ROM GBC cartridge. Gamers can either use the GamePort to play existing Game Boy Color cartridges on the PlayStation 2, or download new titles into the flash ROM. The flash ROM cartridge is also compatible with actual Game Boy Color systems.

   The PlayStation 2 emulator disc includes ten free games that can be downloaded into the flash ROM: Space Invasion, Karate Joe, Painter, ATV Racing, Full Time, Hang Time, Pocket Smash Out and Race Time.

   The Game Studio emulator also supports to the PlayStation 2's bi-linear filtering to display Game Boy titles in high-res and with smoother edges and colors. The emulator even supports the Dual Shock for Game Boy cartridges with a "rumble" feature, such as Perfect Dark and Pokémon Pinball.
