Genso Suikoden Card Stories announced

[04.01.01] » Collectible card game to appear in both card and Game Boy Advance formats.

In a special press conference on the final day of the Tokyo Game Show, Konami announced the future of its popular Genso Suikoden series. In addition to formally announcing the already-confirmed Genso Suikoden III for PlayStation 2, the company introduced a brand new member of the franchise: Genso Suikoden Card Stories.

Scheduled to debut as both as physical collectible card game and Game Boy Advance title this summer, Genso Suikoden Card Stories will feature art from over a dozen popular Japanese artists. From the super-deformed looks of the single card released this far, it appears the game will be taking a more lighthearted view of the normally solemn Suikoden series.

Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo, the Suikoden series' developer, will create the link cable-compatible Game Boy Advance version of the title, while Konami's Consumer Products division will publish the actual cards.

Thanks to Nick Rox for the lead.
