Silent Hill 2, Devil May Cry to feature camera-relative control

[03.29.01] » Two more adventure games drop the infamous "Resident Evil control scheme."

In a recent interview with IGNPS2, Silent Hill 2 producer Akihiko Imamura revealed that the game would adopt a camera-relative control scheme, or one in which pressing left or right moves the character to the left or right on the screen. (The first Silent Hill used the much-maligned Resident Evil control scheme, in which players must rotate the character and then press up to move forward.)

Likewise, the recent release of the Devil May Cry demo in Japan has confirmed that the game uses camera-relative control.
