Game Arts president comments on Nintendo development

[03.29.01] » Youichi Miyaji enthused about Nintendo's new systems.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Game Arts president Youichi Miyaji hinted that GameCube development might be in the company's future.

"I think Nintendo is the only company that lays weight on improving games' essential amusement value. Because I also personally believe that 'enjoyable games are good games,' I hope Nintendo will achieve something great," Miyaji said. He later stated that "we've already started developing some new games based on this policy, which, hopefully, might turn out to be something that takes even Game Arts fans' breath away."

While vague endorsement of a new console are standard industry practice, the strength of Miyaji's words seem to indicate that the company may be at least considering development for the GameCube or Game Boy Advance.
