Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 unveiled

[03.14.01] » Eidos releases the first details and screenshots of Kain's next PlayStation 2 appearance.

    Gamers who can't get enough vampire action will be glad to know that Eidos has announced its second PlayStation 2 Legacy of Kain title. Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2, the fourth game in the series, picks up the story of Kain a century after the events of the original Blood Omen. Chaos has consumed the world of Nosgoth and Kain, stripped of his powers, must fight a new mysterious character in order to regain his power.

    Kain will have a wide variety of actions available to him, including attack combos, special moves, mind control, and the ability to sneak across rooftops. As the game progresses he will gain more vampiric skills. The game's AI will be receiving a lot of attention, with new behavior patterns being utilized in the NPC characters. Peasants, for instance, will be unaware of any hidden weapons carried by Kain as he walks through crowds, unless of course he pulls them out, in which case the mob will go running.

    Blood Omen 2 is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and should see a release this fall.
