Evergrace 2 announced

[03.09.01] » From Software prepares a sequel to its PlayStation 2 action RPG.

The latest issue of Famitsu has unveiled a forthcoming sequel From Software's early PlayStation 2 action RPG Evergrace. The new game, Evergrace 2, will also appear on the PlayStation 2, though a release date has yet to be announced.

Set several years before the first Evergrace, Evergrace 2 details the life of protagonist Darius (aka Yuterald in the Japanese version) before he was sucked into another dimension at the beginning of Evergrace. (The first Evergrace's heroine, Sharline, does not seem to be scheduled to appear in the prequel.) Darius is joined by two new allies: his friend Ryana and a mysterious girl (gasp!) named Fillna. All three characters comprise a single party that fights together, a change from the lone hero mechanics of the first Evergrace.

Evergrace's fashion-oriented gameplay system makes a return in the sequel. As in the first game, equipment is added piece-by-piece to specific sections of the heroes' bodies. Your choice of attire not only affects what skills and abilities (known as "Palmira Actions") that you can wield, but how characters treat your party.

Look for more on Evergrace 2 soon.
