More Maken Shao information

[02.15.01] » Maken X's story to be retold through a new perspective.

Sources in Japan are indicating that Maken Shao, the rumored PlayStation 2 sequel to Maken X for the Dreamcast, will actually be a heavily upgraded version of the original. Atlus plans a major graphics overhaul for the game, but will leave the storyline the same as it was in the Dreamcast version.

One of the biggest change Atlus is making is in the game's perspective, which is being switched from first-person to third person. The static black-and-white scenes between levels will be fully animated in the PlayStation 2 version, and will likely make use of the in-game engine. Finally, the game's sound will be presented in Dolby Surround.

No release date has been set for Maken Shao.
