Metal Gear Solid 2 figures displayed
[02.12.01] » McFarlane Toys sheds a little light on new characters at Toyfair 2001.
McFarlane Toys has revealed four of its seven Metal Gear Solid 2 figures set to be released this fall. The highly detailed figures shown included Solid Snake, Revolver Ocelot, and Olga, the knife-wielding female character Snake fights on the deck of the cargo ship. The fourth figure shown was Metal Gear Ray, which will not be sold as a stand-alone product. Instead, each of the six other figures will include a piece of Metal Gear Ray in their packaging, and by collecting all of them you can construct Metal Gear Ray yourself..
Even more intriguing than those figures displayed to the public were the figures that only had their silhouettes shown. The first character is remarkably similar to Liquid Snake, who is confirmed as a returning character in Sons of Liberty, with long hair and a trench coat. The second figure bears some resemblance to Ninja, though his crushing defeat in the last game would lead some to believe he was actually dead. The figure is armed with a sword, rifle, and what looks to be a knife between its teeth. The final figure looks like it could be the rumored villain that Snake will fight in an underwater battle. His "tail" would make an excellent weapon for underwater combat and the close-up image of his face reveals what could be a regulator in his mouth to allow him to breathe while submerged.
McFarlane will release the line of figures shortly after the release of Metal Gear Solid 2 this fall.
