Metal Gear series coming to an end?

   The Japanese anime publication NewType.com has published a recent interview conducted by Mamoru Oshii (director of Ghost in the Shell) with Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series. In the interview, Kojima stated that Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty will be the final game in the popular series. Kojima has previously hinted that Sons of Liberty would end the series on the KCEJ Bulletin Board System. Metal Gear Solid 2 is slated for release on the PlayStation 2 later this year in both Japan and North America, with an Xbox version also in development.
