Dr. Mario 64 announced
[01.21.00] » Nintendo pulls a spring release out of its
... back catalog.
In an effort to bulk up its disturbingly sparse
2001 release schedule, Nintendo has quietly revealed another new game
for the last days of the N64. Dr. Mario, the Tetris-meets-the-prescription-counter
puzzler from the NES era, will be receiving an update for the N64.
Though no official announcement had been made, the game, creatively
titled Dr. Mario 64, has been added to Nintendo's newest release list
and scheduled for April 9.
Considering Nintendo's internal development teams
have been hard at work for over a year on GameCube projects, Dr. Mario
64 is likely being developed by their American studio NST or another
second-party. Look for more on the game in the coming weeks.
