Tokyo Game Show plans announced

[01.18.01] » Square returns, but Enix and Sega are no-shows.

Japan's Computer Entertainment Software Association today announced its official plans for this year's spring Tokyo Game Show. The bi-annual event will be held from March 30th to April 1st. As usual, the show will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Tokyo. Microsoft's Bill Gates will deliver the keynote speech on March 30th and will be on hand to promote the Xbox's Japanese launch.

However, for the second TGS in a row, Sega will not be in attendance; Enix will also not display any games at the show. Square, on the other hand, will return to the show floor after skipping the Fall 2000 TGS. Most other major software publishers, such as Atlus, Capcom, Konami, and Namco, will be exhibiting at the show as well. Nintendo has yet to commit to an appearance, but may still attend.
