Metal Gear Solid 2 demo details
[01.12.01] » Konami reveals modes and moves from the MGS2
demo.
Gamers will get their first taste of Metal Gear
Solid 2 this March with the playable demo packaged in Zone of the
Enders. The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu details what the demo will
have to offer, and it's shaping up to be something more than a brief
sample of the highly-anticipated game.
From the main menu, a "Previous Story"
mode can be accessed. Similar to the "Previous Operations"
briefing in the first MGS, players can read a text summary of Snake's
past exploits. Also offered is a "Special" mode, which displays
a movie and explanation of each of Snake's 32 moves, many of which
are new in the sequel.
Some of the new moves, such as the ability to dangle
from ledges or make enemies surrender at gunpoint, were previously
revealed in the various trailers. Others abilities, such as using
enemies for human shields, are new to the demo. Each move is also
given a difficulty rating, so you'll have an idea of how hard it is
to accomplish successfully within the game.
Although Z.O.E will be hitting Japan in early March,
both it and the bonus MGS2 demo are slated to arrive in the US later
in the month.
