Sega offers Sakura Wars goodies
[01.10.01] » The series receives two limited editions for
its third installment and special edition Dreamcast.
Miraculously, the oft-delayed release of Sakura
Wars 3 is just a few months away
in Japan. In keeping with the royal treatment the series has been
receiving, Sega has announced the game will ship in, not one, but
two limited editions. The A Set will include a specially made music
box, while the B Set will come packed with a Sakura Wars VMU. No pictures
have been released of the bonus merchandise, but expect it to be pink
to match the VMU and Jump Pack included in the limited editions of
the previous Sakura Wars, remade for the Dreamcast last year.
But for the true Sakura Wars completists, Sega
has just released an entire SW-themed Dreamcast, only available in
Japan. The rosey-hued console comes decorated with characters from
the series and is packaged with a matching controller, another VMU,
and a Sakura Wars email program to communicate your profound love
of the series with your friends. Clocking in at over $300 US, the
Sakura Wars Dreamcast is just the thing for those who feel the Hello
Kitty DC isn't quite pink enough.
There are, of course, no plans to release the special
edition Dreamcast in the US, but it is available now at online retailers
such as Videogamedepot.
